Medias Maris is a global coral observatory network combining underwater sensing, community training, and environmental storytelling to monitor reef restoration and amplify local voices in ocean conservation.

It’s the first coral observatory of its kind that is decentralized, community-driven, and built on open environmental data principles—designed for scale, inclusion, and justice.

Our pilot is supported through research grants and donations. We welcome partnerships with foundations, universities, and mission-aligned sponsors.

We use federated systems, open-source tools, and strict protocols for local data sovereignty, ensuring that communities retain control over their contributions.
